Third ‘Venom’ keeps dancing at the top of the box office

‘The Wild Robot’ continued to show its staying power, making more over its sixth weekend in theaters than it did last weekend.

1. Venom: The Last Dance

Weekend gross: $26.1M
Total domestic gross: $90M
Last weekend: 1st
Percent drop: 49

It may be the last dance for the Venom franchise, but the series’ third installment refused to leave the dance floor this weekend. Venom: The Last Dance easily came in at No. 1 for the second straight frame, adding $26.1 million to bring its domestic haul to $90 million.

The third Venom movie is considerably trailing the pace of its two predecessors, though. Through their first two weekends, the original Venom was at $142.1 million and Venom: Let There Be Carnage was at $141.4 million.

2. The Wild Robot

Weekend gross: $7.6M
Total domestic gross: $121.5M
Last weekend: 3rd
Percent increase: 11

Look at The Wild Robot over here. The animated masterpiece, now wrapping up its sixth weekend in theaters, improved on its total from last weekend by 11 percent and bumped back to the No. 2 spot.

The Wild Robot is now the fourth biggest animated film of the year, with its $121.5 million domestic total trailing Inside Out 2 ($653 million), Despicable Me 4 ($361 million) and Kung Fu Panda 4 ($193.6 million).
