The Avengers aren’t coming, but a new ‘Thunderbolts*’ trailer premieres during the Super Bowl
The Eagles crushed the Chiefs. Kendrick Lamar buried Drake. And Marvel’s upcoming film leads a batch of teasers.
Super Bowl commercials are bad.
It’s time we all admit that. For those of us lucky enough to have grown up during an era of beer cans playing football and talking frogs, it’s hard to watch this current era of Super Bowl commercials and not be disappointed. I don’t want to see any more commercials where the hook is just “hey, do you remember this movie or these actors?” I mean, what does Sydney Sweeney have to do with When Harry Met Sally? Who approved that ad with the tongues for Coffee-Mate Cold Foam?
At least we got a few new movies trailers, with an excellent new preview for Marvel’s Thunderbolts* leading the way.
But let’s be honest, Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show was the highlight of the night. The man looked into the camera as he said Drake’s name.

Thunderbolts*
This is an excellent trailer. I’m impressed the Marvel Studios is currently juggling three movies, with Captain America: Brave New World hitting theaters this week, Thunderbolts* this spring and The Fantastic Four: First Steps coming over the summer. (Remember the time Lucasfilm couldn’t even figure out how to market Star Wars: The Last Jedi home release alongside Solo’s theatrical release?)
The Thunderbolts* cast looks like they’re going to be a ton of fun together, and it’s exciting to see glimpses of what Lewis Pullman is doing as Sentry. (And the asterisk definitely means we’re watching the Dark Avengers assemble, huh?)
