Taco Bell and Milk Bar party like it’s your birthday
The Birthday Cake Churro is a collab you can celebrate.

Sometimes I plan an edition of Snackology. Sometimes an edition of Snackology surprises me. While I was running an errand on Thursday morning, I happened across an Instagram post from Taco Bell and Milk Bar.
The duo has teamed up to release Birthday Cake Churros.
I happened to be right across the street from a Taco Bell, so I swung by in hopes of seeing what these Birthday Cake Churros were all about. My plans were foiled by this location not opening until 10:30, which was a shock to me since I assumed in the year 2025, all Taco Bells were open around the clock. No worries, though, since there was another location down the street.
They had the Birthday Cake Churros (and a 24-hour drive-thru), which meant I was able to take a still-warm two-pack of them home with me for a late/weird breakfast ...

Where I found it
These fellas are a collab between Taco Bell and Milk Bar, but they’re only available at Taco Bell. (There was apparently a “truffle-ified version” available at Milk Bar’s flagship New York City location on Thursday.)
What I paid
A two-pack of Birthday Cake Churros was $2.99.

My thoughts
When it comes to Taco Bells collabs, I pretty much never think of the chain’s dessert offerings. My mind goes to the Doritos Locos Taco, the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap — you know, the innovative new ways Taco Bell finds to cram a different cheesy snack food into the wholesome Taco Bell food you already love.
The Birthday Cake Churro isn’t Milk Bar’s first time teaming up with Taco Bell, though. The iconic dessert chain previously partnered with the fast-food chain to release the Strawberry Bell Truffles back in summer of 2022. I missed those a few years ago, but I’m happy that I didn’t miss the Birthday Cake Churro.
“We love partnerships that play with form and flavor, which is exactly what we've done with this extra-celebratory take on the churro,” Taco Bell global chief food innovation officer Liz Matthews said in a statement. “A visit to Taco Bell isn't complete without savoring the sweets, and this special little treat captures the sweet, nostalgic birthday cake flavors and festive feeling with every bite, making every occasion feel like your special day.”
The Birthday Cake Churro is fantastic. Like, I was only going to take a few bites of one for this review but then housed the entire thing and had to walk out of the kitchen so that I didn’t eat the second one fantastic.
They’re warm. They’re tasty. They perfectly evoke the classic Milk Bar birthday cake flavor.

“For over 16 years, Milk Bar has been a part of so many people’s birthdays and special moments, so we were beyond excited when our friends at Taco Bell asked us if we were game to collab on another dessert to turn everyday moments into celebrations,” Milk Bar founder Christina Tosi said in a statement. “This treat has all the iconic birthday cake spirit (and flavor), deliciously and uniquely delivered in crispy churro form, and we can't wait for you to try it.”
My only complaint about the Birthday Cake Churros is that mine were light on the birthday cake frosting they were supposed to be filled with. If we see this dessert offered again, maybe Taco Bell can include some of it for dipping.
Final verdict: BUY
The Birthday Cake Churro is reportedly available at Taco Bell for two weeks. Stop what you’re doing and go out and buy some. Here’s hoping that we get more Milk Bar/Taco Bell collabs in the future. Can we figure out a way to put a Cornflake Marshmallow Chocolate Chip Cookie into something?
