Hey, Popculturology readers. I’m here with a special edition of the newsletter to pass along the report that Marvel Studios has allegedly found the directors of the next two Avengers films ... and they look a lot like the directors of the last two Avengers films.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are in talks with Marvel Studios to helm the unnamed fifth Avengers film and Avengers: Secret Wars. (Deadline followed up with their own report that the Russo Brothers are “being brought into the fold at Marvel Studios on various fronts with one of their first big priorities being the upcoming Avengers sequels at the studio.”)

This is big news. It’s not every day that the directors responsible for two of the only six films to crack the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office (James Cameron has done it three times) return after moving on to other projects.
