Hey, you got Oreos in my Coke Zero
Those Coca-Cola Oreos were good. But Oreo Coke Zero is even better.
I did it. I found what Coke is calling Coca‑Cola Zero Sugar OREO Limited Edition Creations. We can skip that lengthy title and just call this marvel of modern food science Oreo Coke Zero.
Oreo Coke Zero is the counterpart to the Coca-Cola Oreos that I reviewed earlier this week, the other half of the dynamic duo gifted to the world thanks to this partnership between Coca-Cola and Oreo.
I’m still trying to find the Slurpee based on this flavor of Coke, but for now let’s head to my thoughts on Oreo Coke Zero ...

Where I found it
Both the 20 oz. bottle and the 10-pack of 7.5 oz. cans were Target finds.
What I paid
The 20 oz. bottle was $2.39 and the 10-pack was $6.49.
My thoughts
While the Coca-Cola Oreos hit you in the face with the overpowering scent of Coke when you opened that package, Oreo Coke Zero is different. It’s subtle. It doesn’t want to scare you away.
My first thought after opening the cold 20 oz. bottle and taking a whiff of Oreo Coke Zero was that it reminded me a ton of Vanilla Coke Zero.
But what would this concoction taste like? How would Coke capture the Oreo flavor? It’s easy to do this when you’re making a cookies-and-cream ice cream or milkshake. People expect chunks of Oreo cookies in those. But you surely can’t do that in a soda.
If you were worried that Oreo Coke Zero would be a chunky soda, put that fear away. (That was a weird fear to have in the first place.) Oreo Coke Zero has just enough of a hint of chocolate to evoke the classic Oreo flavor.
I love this flavor. If Coke made it permanent alongside Cherry Coke Zero and Vanilla Coke Zero, it wouldn’t seem out of place at all.
There was an ABC TV movie back in the 1990s about two families pretending to get along in order to win a taste of a mysterious new soda flavor (it was Picture Perfect starring Home Improvement’s Richard Karn), and that mysterious soda flavor turned out to be chocolate. For decades, I’ve thought about that twist. A chocolate soda? How would that work? Well, Oreo Coke Zero has shown us the way.
Final verdict: BUY
Yup, huge endorsement from me for Oreo Coke Zero. If you see it in the wilderness, do yourself a favor and pick up a few bottles or a case. (And if you really like it, you can pick up some Coca-Cola x Oreo gear.)
